Australian Catholic Superannuation and UniSuper have signed a Heads of Agreement following the successful completion of the due diligence and an extensive independent review process by the respective boards of each fund. A number of benefits for members of both organisations have been identified.

UniSuper was awarded the SuperRatings Fund of the Year for 2021 and recently was announced as Money magazine’s Best Super Fund for 2022, providing further assurance on our choice of merger partner.

Australian Catholic Superannuation and UniSuper merger on track to proceed

The CEO of Australian Catholic Superannuation, Greg Cantor, noted that the due diligence process was detailed, collaborative and efficient.

“I am excited about the merger moving forward, with the process looking very positive for members of our Fund,” he said.

UniSuper CEO, Peter Chun, also expressed his commitment to the next stage of the merger.

“We’re pleased we’ve reached this important milestone, having identified numerous benefits for members of both super funds. I look forward to a very promising next stage of the process.”

For the merger with UniSuper to be finalised, a range of conditions must be met. This includes a final decision by each board to merge, regulatory and legislative requirements and the assurance that the merger is in the best financial interests of members.

Should we agree with UniSuper that the merger is in the best interests of all members, it is anticipated that it will be completed by the end of this year. We aim to make the transition as seamless as possible for you and will communicate changes to your account in the coming months, but for now there is nothing you need to do.
